I am happy to report I went to work this whole week and did not wear anything black (on the outside – it would be hard for me not to wear some black undergarments). Here is a week in review:
MONDAY (I think I already posted this outfit, but I want a COMPLETE post)
Jeans & top from Torrid, shoes Birkenstock, necklace Store That Is Dead to Me.
TUESDAY:
Honestly, I didn’t even know what to do about jewelry with this, so I skipped it. Same shoes, day two. Shirt and jeans, Torrid. (Shirt: 4, jeans, 26 regular.) They appear to be out of the shirt, and they don’t have another one this style. It’s from the “super soft” collection, and it’s pretty soft, but I don’t know that I’d go “super.” Included face selfie because I actually put on makeup (and not just eyeliner, mascara, and lipstick). I don’t think it makes much difference.
WEDNESDAY:
Tee is from Hips & Curves, size 5x, Jade. This is now on sale for $7.98. (I think I got it on sale for $19?) I loved this shirt when Hailey modeled it on her blog, and when they had a sale, I grabbed one in this color & black. It’s a tad clingy, but it’s super soft rayon knit. The jeans are a clearance find from Torrid (size 26 regular). They still have quite a few sizes. These seemed to run a little big to me. I know I didn’t magically lose weight between Tuesday and Wednesday. They also stretched out a little more than the boyfriend jeans usually do. They came cuffed and I was not in the mood to iron them. Shoes are Birkenstocks (day 3).
Shortly after taking these photos, I had to give my car his daily drink of power steering fluid. It was a new bottle, and it kind of exploded when I poked a hole in the foil top. Let’s hope I can Shout it out….sigh.
THURSDAY:
I had to get to work early on Thursday. I almost caved and wore jeans and a black t-shirt. But I remained strong and wore GRAY. Dress is from Amazon, size 4x, and it’s still a little big. I think one more size down would cling too much, though. Cardigan is from Torrid, but it’s old. I couldn’t decide how to button it. It looked stupid all the way buttoned, and I didn’t like just the bottom ones….gah. Shoes are Keds, via Amazon, size 11. Of course I really need a 10.5, but apparently that’s not a thing. I need to fix the laces a little, and maybe find my socks (I was in a hurry.) They are, however, super squishy and comfortable in the footbed and actually have some arch support. I barely had time to put on lipstick. The light in these is weird because it was storming most of the day and hadn’t cleared yet.
FRIDAY
YAAAAY I made it. Dress is the Geneva in Rum Raisin from Universal Standard, size XL (26/28). Shoes are vintage Doc Martens. Necklace is old from Modcloth – it’s a locket, but the hinge is a little weaksauce. I took a face picture because the lipstick is glittery and cool and on sale at Urban Decay. This shade is called “Conspiracy.” It’s glittery for me, but some days I need a little glitter. Note that today is eyeliner, mascara & lipstick, not full face. I swear to god there is no difference. I did use a “vivid warm” effect on the camera for that last one, because fluorescent light was making it look weird.
The lipstick isn’t sticky – it dries to a matte finish. Staying power is iffy, but it didn’t transfer a lot, so that’s a plus. Transfer is why I hate most lipsticks. (Also I don’t like goopy ones because my hair blows in them.)
I have some Things to Say about Kate Spade and Anthony Bourdain, but I don’t think I can articulate fully right this minute. All I can say for now is that nothing can protect you from depression: not money, not fame, not talent. May they have found some peace.
Very colorful. Yay! for no black. Love that your turquoise glasses match your hair.

I am so proud of you for pushing yourself to do this. I think you did a great job on no black week! My favorite is the pink Torrid top. I love the way it looks on you. And that glitter lipstick!!
