It’s always fun when the week feels like it’s dragging and it’s Tuesday.
Today is also one of those days where I am actively fighting the urge to (a) go get something chocolate (b) make something chocolate (c) all of the above.
I could try to pretend this post has a point besides just my outfit, but it doesn’t today. However, this does mark an occasion: despite the fact that my blog is BASED on a meme about maxi skirts, I do not believe I have actually featured one in an outfit.
The shirt is from SWAK Designs. I thought there were some lurking in the clearance section, but there are not. I like that this is a shorter length and designed to be worn untucked. However, it’s very sheer, so I’m wearing a tank top underneath.
The skirt was custom-made by Argyle Dragonfly. She is currently taking a break from Etsy, but may be back. The fabric is leftovers from a quilt my mom made for us:
My skirt has pockets, and it’s very twirly. I just have to be careful because it’s very easy to roll over skirts with your office chair. This is also why, despite the fact that they’re cute, I am not purchasing any maxi kimonos or vests. The skirt is durable enough to withstand a minor run-in….but things made of chiffon and fringe, not so much.
I’m not sure what my issue is today. Maybe it’s that we appear to have skipped spring and gone straight to summer. I dislike summer. I do not like being hot. The sun makes me burn and freckle. I feel like everything chafes, even when it doesn’t. I would much rather have winter. Well, as long as it’s not snowing and/or sleeting. But cold? I have insulation. I can deal with cold. I cannot deal with being hot.
BLERGH.
Love your twirly skirt. Only a few scraps left from your quilt resising in my fabric stash
